About the Author

JE Mullane the Author

The author is a former schoolteacher who lives with his wife and action-challenged cat in New York State’s Adirondack Mountain Park. In a previous millennium, he received his English degree from St. Bonaventure University and his graduate degree in education from the State University of New York at Oswego. He is the author of Beneath the Surface and Disturbing the Dead. The sequel to Beneath the Surface is due to be published in early 2023.

A lover of noir, both on-screen and on the page, he is also a fan of smart-ass dialogue with a strong dose of dark humor. Who says despicable characters can’t show their funny sides?

When not camped in front of a laptop, he enjoys the activities his unique home region has to offer. In the colder months he enjoys snowshoeing and hunkering down by the fire. In the brief window of warmer weather, he can be found among his beehives, harvesting honey and beeswax, splitting the hives, and producing queens. Whenever possible, he’ll be hiking or kayaking.
